Situated within the NTU Campus, INDEX: Stories in Motion is a platform dedicated to presenting the moving image and media art. Technological developments and experimentations with the mediums have caused video art, animation, and experimental media to evolve, allowing diverse perspectives and approaches to emerge. INDEX endeavours to explore the intersection of art, technology and culture by showcasing works by artists, NTU faculty and students.
An initiative of NTU Museum, INDEX runs a year-long curated programme of exhibitions, commissioned works, screenings and interdisciplinary collaborations. Embracing a spirit of inquiry and experimentation, INDEX seeks to unearth stories and foster conversations around different modes of engaging with the world around us.

Behind the Scenes
INDEX started life as Media Art Nexus (MAN) and was formally launched in 2018 as part of the inaugural Campus Art Trail. MAN was an open-ended public art initiative, bridging research, education and contemporary media practices. It was integrated with the curriculum of the School of Art, Design and Media (ADM), serving as a pedagogical tool within and beyond the classroom and a learning ‘playground’ for experimentation and prototyping where students can be creative.
MAN was co-founded by Ina Conradi and Mark Chavez. Ina Conradi is a multidisciplinary artist and Associate Professor at NTU’s School of Art, Design and Media, pioneering research in immersive media, experimental animation and large scale digital installations. Mark Chavez is a media artist, filmmaker and AI researcher who specialises in decolonial approaches to generative media, quantum aesthetics and post-industrial collage.
