Transcripts

General Information

The transcript is an official permanent academic record which contains all courses and grades obtained by a student during the period of study at NTU.

Upon completion of their degree requirements, graduates will receive a complimentary hardcopy official transcript together with their degree certificate. More information regarding the timeline on issuance of the graduation documents can be found via the Graduation Matters webpage.

Graduates will also be issued a complimentary certified electronic transcript (eTranscript*) and OpenCerts**. A notification will be sent to their NTU email account when these electronic documents are available for retrieval.

*The eTranscript is available for those who graduated from 2008 onwards for undergraduate programmes and from 2017 onwards for graduate programmes.
**The OpenCerts digital certificate and transcript is available for those who graduated from 2014 onwards, except for graduates of joint degree programmes.

The eTranscript is:

  • digitally signed and certified by NTU
  • considered official and valid only in their certified PDF electronic form
  • to be viewed through Adobe Reader versions 6.0 or higher or through Adobe Acrobat version 6.04 or higher. The latest Adobe Reader can be downloaded free from www.adobe.com

Non-graduating students who have completed their courses in NTU will receive a hardcopy official transcript through their home university or their school:

  • For exchange students, the transcripts will be mailed to their home university via the Office of Global Education and Mobility, with one copy given each to the university and the student.
  • For non-exchange students, the transcript will be mailed directly to them via their schools.

Current students, including non-graduating students, may self-generate their Record of Examination Results (RER) at any time with no charges imposed via the Self-help Transcript System.

The RER displays the student's released examination results for all courses attempted to date and is available to students before they are issued their degree certificate and official transcript.

Application for Official Transcript or Record of Examination Results (RER)

Graduates and non-graduating students# who have completed courses in NTU, and require additional copies of their official transcript (hardcopy or electronic), may submit their application^ via the Transcript Application System.

Current students, including non-graduating students, may also request for hardcopy RER (printed on NTU paper) or electronic RER (eRER) NEW to be sent to their intended recipient(s) via this system.
