The INDEX Collection brings together commissioned works by artists working across moving image, animation, virtual reality, game worlds and expanded media. The collection offers insight into the ideas and questions shaping contemporary artistic practice while presenting new perspectives on the world around us.
This growing body of works positions the screen as a site for experimentation and public engagement, reflecting the evolving possibilities of moving image and media art.

Drift Alley: An Inventory of Survival Economies presents a panoramic digital frieze of fictional shopfronts inspired by the conserved shophouses and microeconomies in Singapore's Little India district. The work unfolds as a continuous street elevation of 9 conservation shophouses. Each building hosts a fictional trade or service that reflects the evolution of digital economies in the age of artificial intelligence and the metaverse. Collectively, the shopfronts present a speculative catalogue of services responding to the uncertainties of life in the near future.
Location
The 15m long INDEX: Stories in Motion screen is located at the North Spine Plaza, L1, along the corridor leading to Block N3, next to Prime Supermarket and Booklink.
