Introduction
This course offers an advanced study of the Four Major Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Classics, 黄帝内经Huangdì Neijīng (The Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon), 伤寒论Shanghan Lun (Treatise on Cold Damage), 金匮要略 Jinkui yaolüe (Essential Prescriptions of the Golden Cabinet) and 温病学Wenbing Xue (Warm Disease Theory), combined with contemporary TCM thought and modern research methodologies. Learners will interpret original passages, trace theoretical development, and translate classical frameworks into evidence-informed clinical decision making and research design. The course cultivates skills in textual analysis, clinical reasoning, and academic integration, preparing practitioners for advanced clinical roles, integrative healthcare teams, academic teaching, and TCM research or policy positions, thereby supporting sustained professional development and encouraging effective cross-disciplinary collaboration.As the micro-credential courses are only offered in this FlexiMasters in Chinese Medicine programme, learners are required to enrol into this programme and complete all required courses within this programme.
