NTU celebrates 30 years of NBS and commemorates Dr Wee Cho Yaw’s legacy

NTU Singapore is celebrating three decades of nurturing business leaders through its Nanyang Business School (NBS).

Formerly the School of Accountancy and Business, it was renamed in 1995 at a ceremony officiated by the late Dr Wee Cho Yaw, a visionary business leader, philanthropist, and one of NBS’s earliest champions.

As part of this milestone, NTU commemorated Dr Wee’s enduring legacy. Over the decades, he supported the University with his leadership and guidance, including serving as NTU Pro-Chancellor.

To celebrate his contributions, NTU unveiled a tribute wall highlighting his impact on the University and the nation. In addition, NTU commissioned a painting by renowned visual artist and NBS alumnus Yip Yew Chong, depicting the values Dr Wee lived by.

The building housing NBS was also named the Wee Cho Yaw Plaza in recognition of his lasting contributions.

The celebration was graced by Guest of Honour Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Health and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies.
