Palette of Local Delights is a mixed media installation created by installation artist Angela Chong, which celebrates the diversity and allure of well-loved local cuisine in Singapore.

Inspired by colours of Singaporean snacks and desserts, Angela has created works comprising geometric forms to reflect Singapore's culinary melting pot arising from its multi-cultural society. More than sixty sculptures are suspended in a wave-like formation, creating a dynamic flow of colors and forms.

The playful kaleidoscopic elements in the installation also underscore the pursuit of delectable delights as a favorite pastime in Singapore. Despite differences in race and traditions, Singaporeans bond over food.

An added dimension to the installation is a family of "kuehleidescycles" which can be turned endlessly – a symbol of the continuing heritage and reinventions of local cuisine. Embellished with beautiful images of kuehs and traditional sweets that the artist has photographed and digitally manipulated into myriad of patterns, the sculptures underscore our strong bonds and joy of Singapore's multi-racial culture. The special focus on local desserts is particularly meaningful for celebrating Singapore's enduring harmonious society.
