Earth Messages: Perspectives from Environmental Artists

Date: 17 August – 17 September 2012

Venue: Innovation Centre, Block 1, Multi-Purpose Hall

Earth Messages was an exhibition about the perspectives of artists on environmental issues related to postmodern and industrial development. The exhibition gathered the works of 12 artists, presenting wide range of issues and challenges related to the impact of human interactions, activities and interventions on earth. We were reminded of our close relationship with the environment, which, since the beginning of life on earth, has been deeply rooted and built on the basis of consumption and renewal by cultivation. Viewers were provoked to consider the implications of uncontrolled exploitation of resources and irresponsible activities on our natural environment. More than 20 artworks and contemporary installations were exhibited from 17 August to 17 September 2012 at the NTU Innovation Centre Gallery.
