2026, let's go

NTU students share their wishes and aspirations for 2026

by Rahila Daud

"In 2026, I hope to continue developing CarbonCredible, the startup I founded at an international hackathon, while deepening my skills in artificial intelligence (AI), project management and real-world problem-solving. I also intend to take on short work stints, join more AI-focused sustainability hackathons, and speak at events to build my confidence in public speaking and leadership."

Anirudh Mannattil

Year 2, Renaissance Engineering Programme

"As captain, I want to shape a team culture where every player feels safe, supported and valued. I’ll ensure we’re up to date with international rugby laws and prioritise safety through physical conditioning."

Sorfina Lee
Year 3, Electrical & Electronic Engineering
NTU Women’s Rugby Captain

"Learning Spanish has opened a whole new world for me – from culture and food to humour. This year, I plan to take an international Spanish language certification exam to put what I’ve learnt into practice."

Nur Hazirah Binte Hamzah
Year 3, Linguistics & Multilingual Studies

"Over the past two years, I’ve had the chance to intern in London and Ghana, and go on exchange at Shanghai Maritime University. These experiences have helped me better understand the maritime industry. In 2026, as a MaritimeSG Youth Ambassador and NTU Global Ambassador, I want to share what I’ve learnt and raise awareness of the opportunities the industry offers, such as at NTU’s open houses and career fairs."

Eleos Tan
Year 3, Maritime Studies

"I hope to help more Singaporeans rediscover our natural heritage hidden in plain sight. Through nature walks, workshops and biodiversity explainers, I aim to show how forests, mangroves and coral reefs quietly support our island, and why they deserve our care."

Muhammad Nasry Bin Abdul Nasir
Year 4, Environmental Earth Systems Science

"I hope to encourage more NTU students to move from dreaming to doing. Entrepreneurship is about learning by doing, and not being afraid to fail and try again. If you have a venture idea, start by sharing it with your friends or our CCA. That way, we can all start early, learn fast and grow ideas that make a real-world impact."

Jenell Goh
Year 3, Accountancy
NTU Entrepreneurship Society President
