NTU Co-Funding for Imperial Connect Fund Collaborative Projects

NTU provides co-funding for selected collaborative education projects with Imperial College London under the Imperial Global Connect Fund. A bespoke Imperial–NTU stream supports projects that enhance education and student experience at both institutions, focusing on:

  • Environmental Sustainability in Education
  • AI in Education
  • Assessment and Feedback

NTU co-funding supports the NTU component only and is separate from Imperial’s award, and applications are by invitation only for NTU collaborators on shortlisted Imperial‑led projects.

Eligibility

At NTU, the lead applicant must be a current NTU employee, and for applicants on fixed-term contracts, the contract must extend at least to the end of the proposed project period.

Application

NTU co-funding is open only to NTU collaborators who are named on Imperial-led proposals and are shortlisted by InsPIRE–TLP. Invited NTU applicants may submit an NTU co-funding application only after Imperial has confirmed the award of the corresponding project.

NTU co-funding follows the Imperial Global Connect Fund process and includes an additional NTU review step. The process outline is as follows:

  1. Project idea and partnership — Imperial and NTU colleagues discuss and agree on a collaborative project idea.
  2. Imperial application — The Imperial project lead submits the proposal, naming both Imperial and NTU project leads.
  3. Shortlisting for NTU co-funding — InsPIRE–TLP reviews relevant proposals and shortlists those within the NTU-supported areas.
  4. Invitation to submit application for NTU co-funding — Only shortlisted NTU collaborators are invited to submit an NTU co-funding application.
  5. NTU submission and internal routing — NTU applicants submit through RISE, followed by internal routing, panel review and NTU’s final decision

NTU staff who are interested in collaborating with Imperial are encouraged to use the below links to find possible collaborators at Imperial and to approach them directly to dicuss a project idea. It is also recommended to ask colleagues about existing collaborations with Imperial as that may suggest avenues for exploring education collaborations.

Imperial:

NTU staff can also share an outline of a proposed project with Imperial’s International Relations Office (globalseedfunds@imperial.ac.uk) who will share the information with appropriate contacts at Imperial. If a potential collaborator is found, you will be connected for a conversation.

Please note, it is not guaranteed that it will be possible to identify a potential collaborator.
