Project Summary

We developed an online course on the topic of Tropical Peatlands and Wildfires. The structure of the content was split between Imperial College (wildfires) and NTU (tropical peatlands).

Our main outputs are a set of educational videos from both institutes. Imperial College developed a set of videos that were specific to the mechanisms of forest and peat fires. NTU developed a set of videos that were specific to tropical peatlands. This is expected to be interesting material for the audience, and easily understandable by students with various backgrounds and the general public.

We value our international collaboration for bringing in expertise on the relevant topics on both fires and peatlands.

At NTU, we co-developed the curriculum with two undergraduates who helped with the research and creation of the video scripts for the content.

Here are the outputs of the videos from both Imperial College and NTU.

Imperial College:

  1. Smouldering peat fires, Video 1
  2. Protecting Peatland from Wildfires, Video 2
  3. Peat Fires Research on a Laboratory scale, Video 3

NTU:

  1. Introduction to Peatlands, Video 1
  2. Peatlands and Haze, Video 2
  3. Peatland Restoration, Video 3
