The "Health Coaching for Older Adults" training programme is a landmark initiative born from a three-year (2018-2020) research initiative led by Professor Theng Yin Leng. This foundational 2-day programme lays the groundwork for a comprehensive understanding of the unique needs and challenges of this population, and is designed to equip link workers, volunteers, and caregivers with the skills to support older adults in managing chronic conditions, enhancing their overall wellbeing, and achieving sustainable behavioural change through motivational interviewing techniques. Learn the core principles of health coaching, effective communication strategies, and essential skills to support older adults in adopting healthy habits, overcoming barriers to change, and achieving optimal health outcomes. This programme sets the stage as a foundation to the Health Coaching Techniques programme, setting you on a path to become a qualified health coach and make a meaningful impact in the lives of older adults.
