This course offers an introduction to assessment and testing of children with disabilities. A detailed assessment of students’ individual strengths and needs is necessary due to their diverse profiles. Learners will be exposed to the technical concepts, methods of and considerations in assessment, common assessment procedures and tools, and reporting and communication of assessment results. They will have direct experiences with screening, standardised, criterion-referenced, and behavioural assessment, allowing them opportunities to link the theories and concepts in measurement and child development with the practical guidelines, procedures, and applications. This course is targeted at practitioners in special and inclusive education and staff supporting children and youth with disabilities in the community settings.
