Non-communicable lifestyle diseases are a major cause of death worldwide. Regular physical activity and good nutrition are crucial factors that can significantly lower the risk of many of these diseases.
This course is designed for physical educators, sports coaches, exercise specialists, and healthcare professionals working in healthcare, sports, and fitness.
These professionals are key in fighting these diseases. Therefore, they need a solid understanding of the background of each disease and how physical activity and nutrition can prevent and treat them. This course introduces to learners how physical activity can be measured as well as the link between energy intake and expenditure. This knowledge will enable learners to recommend the right amount of physical activity and the appropriate diet to reduce the occurrence of these diseases in society.
