Assessment and Development of 21st Century Competencies (Classroom and Asynchronous E-Learning)

This course aims to equip aspiring and existing educators with a better understanding of the theories, principles, and applications of the assessment approaches in helping their students acquire the 21st century competencies. Learners will be exposed to the knowledge, skills and attitudes that make up the 21st century competencies, the traditional and alternative principles and theories of assessment, theories, the theories and principles of authentic task design and rubric development as well as the principles and approaches of providing student feedback. Through these, learners will be able to develop a deeper understanding of how assessment approaches could be more effectively aligned with the teaching and learning process to achieve intended student outcomes.
