Introduction

Develop school-based curriculum and facilitate dialogic classroom teaching for developing students’ 21CCs & SECs using lesson study approach.

By the end of this course, participants should be able to:
  1. Study the intended curriculum and materials and enact school-based curriculum innovation with the use of AI as conversational partner.
  2. Develop research theme/question(s) or problem statement for the research lesson, focusing on develop students’ 21CCs in either academic or non-academic curriculum.
  3. Participate in planning, teaching, observing and facilitating group discussion/reflection in the lesson study cycle.
  • Practice anticipatory reasoning and action during group planning and deliberation for a research lesson.
  • Observe research lessons focusing on gathering evidence of student learning to inform group analysis and lesson improvement.
  • Provide feedback based on observed student learning and oriented to improving learning with a growth mindset.
  • Reflect on teaching and learning based on peer feedback to improve the lesson and answer research questions.
  • Share group and personal growth for personal/group learning or growth as part of the research lesson study cycle.
  1. Develop school-level 2- or 3-year research theme at school/dept level for measuring school-based curriculum implementation.
  2. Develop video resources (such as a video case) from material generated from the course to showcase and affirm school in advancing 21CCs development efforts through the total curriculum (both academic or non-academic areas).
