By the end of this course, participants should be able to:
1. 
Interpret and interrogate the intended curriculum
Study curriculum frameworks, subject curriculum materials and relevant evidence to clarify the educational purpose, intended learning (KUD), 21CCs/SECs and subject outcomes, and make informed curriculum and instructional decisions for dept/school-based curriculum innovation
.

2. Design and enact purposeful learning experiences

Develop a research lesson that translates intended curriculum into coherent learning experiences, with appropriate instructional approaches, anticipation and scaffolding of student responses, assessment/evidence of learning, and purposeful use of GenAI as a conversational partner and/or instructional resource.

3. Engage in collaborative lesson study and curriculum inquiry

Participate actively in planning, teaching, observing, facilitating discussion and reflection within a lesson study cycle by:
  • practising anticipatory reasoning and action during collaborative planning and deliberation;
  • observing/enacting research lessons and gathering evidence of student learning and learning experience;
  • providing feedback grounded in observed student learning and oriented towards improvement;
  • reflecting on teaching and learning in response to evidence and peer perspectives; and
  • sharing personal and group learning to advance the research lesson and collective professional learning.

4. Develop an inquiry-worthy problem and longer-term curriculum improvement direction

Develop a problem statement for a research lesson grounded in evidence of student learning and/or curriculum enactment and formulate a 2–3 year department/school-level research theme and inquiry questions to guide sustained curriculum improvement and evaluation of department /school-based curriculum implementation.

5. 
Document and share curriculum innovation
Develop video resources and other communication artefacts from course-generated materials to document, showcase and affirm the department /school's curriculum innovation and its efforts to develop 21CCs and subject learning across examinable and/or non-examinable subjects.
