Introduction

This course introduces how to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) literacy into science lessons for Lower Secondary Science, specifically through an extension activity related to the 'Model' theme. The course is divided into two parts: (1) a study of three teachers' experiences and perspectives on piloting the extension activity, and (2) an introduction to the lesson plan, detailing its implementation and the construction of a predictive model using AI in the lesson. This is designed as a 3-hour self-directed learning course.

This course aims participants to learn how to integrate AI into science lessons focusing on an AI-integrated science lesson module.

Course Outline:
The course will cover the following:
  1. Understand a case of the teachers, who implemented an AI-integrated science lesson, perceived the relationship between AI and science, challenges of the lesson implementation and recommendations for the implementation.
  2. Learn how the lesson can be executed and how to scaffold students to introduce AI literacy in the lesson.
