Introduction
This course helps middle managers, coaches, team leader, supervisors and people managers develop self-awareness as mentors by understanding the evolution and value of mentoring, and by identifying their personal mentoring style using the Mentor Roles Inventory (MRI). Participants will reflect on their experiences, beliefs, and strengths to become more intentional and effective mentors in the workplace, home, areas of influence and personal lives.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

Sunny Sitoe
Dr. Choon Yip SITOE is a Senior Assistant Director and Associate Faculty with the Office of Teacher Education and Undergraduate Programmes at the National Institute of Education (NIE), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. With over a decade of experience in the education sector, he began his career with the Ministry of Education (MOE), Singapore, where he served as a primary school teacher for ten years. During this time, he developed strong pedagogical expertise and a deep commitment to fostering student motivation and holistic development.
In his current role at NIE, Dr. SITOE contributes to the design and delivery of teacher education programmes, while also engaging in research and academic instruction. His research interests focus on motivation, teacher education, and clinical practice, reflecting his commitment to improving both teaching quality and student learning outcomes. He has actively contributed to the international academic community, presenting his work at various conferences, including the 5th International Conference on Education (ICE-2019) in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates; the Belt and Road Teacher Development Exchange Project in Shanghai, China; and the Online International Conference on Strategies for the Development of School Education in the New Development Phase, organised by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, among others.
Dr. SITOE is also an active member of the Motivation in Educational Research Laboratory (MERL) at NIE and the Educational Research Association of Singapore (ERAS), where he continues to engage in collaborative research and professional development within the field of education.
