Introduction

All companies are part of supply chains which extend globally, and this requires a systems point of view for effective design and management. This course emphasises on the challenges afflicting supply chains and the value of information sharing among supply chain partners that can help to overcome those challenges. Learners will develop skills for designing effective inventory policies and understanding of key issues in design of contracts to align incentives with the company’s suppliers and customers. Learners will also learn different supply chains designs for different product types and stages of product lifecycle. This course also delves into advanced topics important to supply chain managers, such as design of inventory policies, pipeline inventory considerations, supply chain contracts, and selection of key performance indicators for effective management of global supply chains.
