Teaching Assistant Programme (TAP)

Teaching Assistants (TAs) play an important role in engaging undergraduate students in various contexts, be it facilitating lectures, tutorials, or workshops, providing consultations, bringing students out on field trips, or grading assignments and exams. How TAs engage students, will impact on their interest and motivation, and make a difference to the quality of their learning experience in NTU.

The programme aims to equip you with the fundamental knowledge and skills for university teaching. Drawing from current best practices, TAP develops your thinking about how effective learning occurs and your confidence in facilitating student-centred learning.

The programme consists of 5 core modules and 3 elective modules (3 hours per module).

All full-time PhD students are required to take the 5 core modules (HWG702 – University Teaching for Teaching Assistants). The 3 elective modules are optional.
