Alumni changemakers celebrated at awards

Business leaders, government officials, technopreneurs, and award-winning artists were among some of the many NTU Singapore alumni who were honoured at the University’s annual alumni awards.
This year, 37 alumni were honoured among four award categories at the Nanyang Alumni Awards.
Indonesian politician Dr Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono was presented this year’s highest honour, the Nanyang Distinguished Alumni Award.
Among the 9 winners of the Nanyang Alumni Achievement Award for outstanding and sustained achievements in their professional careers include Mr Desmond Tan Kok Ming, Senior Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office and a Member of Parliament for Pasir Ris-Changi Group Representation Constituency.
Young alumni making waves in various industries recognised at the awards include Emmy Award winner Ms Samantha Lee Suyi; space tech start-up chief technology officer Dr George-Cristian Potrivitu, and founder of a fast-growing hotpot restaurant chain Mr Lee Ray Sheng.
The Nanyang Alumni Awards are presented to alumni who have either attained exemplary achievements in their specialised fields nationally, regionally or internationally, or have contributed significantly to the betterment of the University, the community or society.
