Introduction

This course equips participants with practical problem-solving capabilities for the AI era by integrating computational thinking, structured reasoning, and hands-on application of Generative AI tools in workplace contexts. As organisations accelerate AI adoption to improve productivity, innovation, and workforce transformation, there is an increasing need for employees to apply AI effectively while maintaining critical thinking, human oversight, and responsible usage practices. Aligned with Singapore’s broader national AI and workforce transformation initiatives, the course emphasises the importance of structured reasoning, verification, accountability, and responsible AI-enabled decision-making in workplace environments. Participants will learn how to analyse complex and ambiguous workplace challenges systematically, identify patterns, root causes, assumptions, and constraints, break problems into manageable components, and design logical workflows that support more effective decision-making, collaboration, and execution. Through guided exercises and real-world workplace scenarios, participants will apply Generative AI tools to support problem analysis, workflow design, solution generation, information synthesis, chatbot development, and rapid prototyping.
