NTU conferred President’s Award for the Environment 2025

NTU was conferred the President’s Award for the Environment (PAE) 2025 on Thursday (2 Oct). The PAE is the nation’s highest environmental accolade for individuals, educational institutions and organisations that recognises outstanding contributions to environmental protection, sustainability, and building a resilient future for Singapore.
NTU was recognised for its strong commitment to advancing sustainable development and contributing to the global fight against climate change.
Key initiatives include prioritising environmental stewardship and operational resilience through zero-energy buildings and the adoption of green technologies; and embedding sustainability into campus life and curricula to nurture the next generation of interdisciplinary sustainability leaders.
Senior Vice President (Administration), Ms Tan Aik Na, accepted the award on behalf of the University which was presented by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, at a ceremony held this evening at Gardens by the Bay.
“As a leading research-intensive university, NTU recognises the need to respond to global sustainability threats and other grand challenges that the world is facing - so we walk the talk. We hope that our actions and efforts will serve as a testament to environmental stewardship, and inspire others, in Singapore and beyond, to work towards a more sustainable future,” said Ms Tan.
