Visit by the University of Tokyo, Japan, to Nanyang Technological University (NTU) 

On 29 May 2025, a delegation from the Division of Environmental Studies, The University of Tokyo (UTokyo) — comprising Prof Yoshito Oshima, Prof Yoshiko Tsuji, and Prof Teppei Nunoura — visited NTU’s one-north campus. The meeting was attended by NTU Office of Health and Safety (OHS) Director Mr Saravanan Gunaratnam, and his colleague Ms Jenny Liu, as well as representatives from National University of Singapore (NUS), Ms Lim Cheh Peng and Mr Danny Toh. 

The session featured in-depth sharing on the Safety and Health Training Management Systems at NTU and NUS. The University of Tokyo also presented their training framework, fostering insightful exchange on best practices. Discussions included the potential for greater harmonisation of training programmes across Asian universities to enhance regional collaboration. 

A highlight of the visit was a presentation by Prof Tan Meng Jen, the Director of HP-NTU, who shared his pioneering work on 3D printed concrete technologies. The meeting concluded with mutual interest in further academic and operational collaboration.
