Adult Learners Scheme

The Adult Learners Scheme (ALS) is an alternative pathway for working adults to apply for admission into NTU full-time undergraduate programme.  We recognise the value that adult learners bring to the classroom with their work and life experiences that will enrich the diversity of our undergraduates. This scheme will take into account applicants' work experiences and professional achievements alongside their academic qualifications in the selection process.

Admission Criteria

To be eligible for Adult Learners Scheme, applicants must:

  • Be a Singaporean Citizen (SC) or Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR) throughout the duration of study.
  • Be at least 25 years old in the year of matriculation; or possess at least 4 years of working experience (individuals who have fully discharged their full-time NS liability will have 2 years counted towards their full-time work experience).

Shortlisted applicants may be invited to attend an interview. 

Admission Procedures:    
Students, regardless of nationality, should apply under one of the following five groups that corresponds to their high school qualifications.
In the application, please provide the working experience (at least 4 years of working experience), if you are below 25 years old, at the Application Status Menu (via the Check Status link based on your application group).

Click here for Diploma awarded by a Polytechnic or equivalent institution in Singapore
You are presenting a polytechnic diploma from one of the five polytechnics in Singapore; or a diploma from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), LASALLE College of the Arts or BCA Academy.

You are presenting the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma awarded by International Baccalaureate Organization.

1 December 2023 to 20 January 2024

You are presenting an international qualification (e.g. Malaysia STPM/UEC, India Standard 12, Indonesia SMA UAN, PRC GaoKao, Vietnam High Graduation Certificate, etc) or other qualifications not specified in the preceding groups above.
