Master (Coursework)

The Master of Science in Applied Materials Analytics expands NTU MSE’s postgraduate coursework offerings in response to growing industry demand for expertise in materials characterisation, diagnostics, and failure analysis.

#1 in Asia and #2 in the world for Materials Science, according to the 2025 QS World University Rankings by Subject.

Have a good Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent in a related discipline.

Good polytechnic qualifications in applied materials analytics  or closely related major with a substantial number of years of relevant work experience.

For applicants whose native language is not English, TOEFL/IELTS score is to be submitted with the application for admission.

Applicants without TOEFL/IELTS would still be eligible to apply, but they may be subjected to an interview/test if deemed necessary by the School. GRE is not required for MSc programme (by coursework).

These are minimum admission requirements. Meeting these criteria does not guarantee admission, as selection is competitive. All applicants will be holistically evaluated academically, relevancy of work experience and other relevant experiences.

There are two intakes each year – January and August.

Academic Pathways

1) Default route (Coursework study only) -
MSc students will be enrolled on the coursework study option by default 30 AUs (10 AUs of core courses + 20 AUs of elective courses).

2) Opt-in routes – (Optional: Dissertation study option) - 
MSc students may opt in to pursue coursework study 24 AUs (10 AUs core courses + 14 AUs elective courses) and Dissertation (6 AUs). For more information, please click here.

 The following courses are offered under the Master of Science in Applied Materials Analytics programme. Students must complete total of 30 AUs (10 AUs of core courses + 20 AUs of elective courses).

For international students, the required amount of the living expenses is estimated at S$18,000 per year, in addition to the tuition and miscellaneous student fees.

A student who withdraws or leaves the University two or more weeks after the commencement of his candidature or the commencement of the semester is liable to pay the fees due for the semester.

Deposit fee will be used to offset first payment.
