Public Advisory: Tuition Fee Payment Scam

The University has been informed of a scam email circulating at other institutions. The fraudulent message claims to be about “Tuition Fee Outstanding Payment.”

Our University has not been affected. This advisory is being shared as a precaution for our students, staff, and members of the public.

What you should do:

  • Do not click on links, download attachments, transfer money, or provide personal details if you receive such a message.
  • Delete the email immediately.

If you have responded:

  • Call the ScamShield Helpline at 1799.
  • Contact your bank urgently if money has been transferred.
  • University students and staff should reach our Service Desk or raise a query via ASK IT in ServiceNow.

Stay secure:

  • Use strong passwords (12+ characters, mix of upper/lower case, numbers, and symbols).
  • Enable Microsoft Authenticator 2-Factor Authentication for your university account.
  • Verify payment requests directly through official NTU channels.
