The Master of Science in Finance programme aims to develop and cultivate young bilingual executives who can achieve a successful career in the global finance industry, with a focus on China and the Asia-Pacific region.

Admission Requirements

Applicants who wish to apply to the Nanyang MSc Finance are required to meet the minimum admission requirements below:

  • Good undergraduate degree in any discipline  
  • Language proficiency in English and Mandarin* 
  • Good GMAT or GRE score
  • Work experience in a relevant field is preferred but not required

*A good IELTS or TOEFL score is required if your undergraduate degree was not taught exclusively in English. 

Application Dates

  • There is only one intake per academic year, and the programme will start in July. 
  • The online application opens from September to April of the following year.
  • Only completed applications received before the deadline will be assessed. An application is considered complete when we have received all supporting documents, information, and application fee

The MSc Finance is a full-time bilingual programme and can be completed in a year. Students are required to complete 36 academic units (AUs) consisting of core and elective courses. Students who successfully complete all the course requirements will be awarded a degree in MSc Finance by Nanyang Technological University.


The programme is designed for students to gain practical insight into finance principles required for a rewarding career in finance. On top of the structured and rigorous curriculum, we also engage in a range of activities like Student Industry Field Trips (SIFTs), thought series, and personal and professional development guidance so as to build a platform to meet with industry experts and to develop your skills.

Throughout the year, many top companies from China engage with students directly and actively recruit from NBS postgraduate students. In recent years, many leading companies such as CICC, CITIC Securities, Alibaba, Baidu, Tencent, JD.com and Ping An Group have hired MSc Finance graduates.
