S$62 million CyberSG R&D Programme Office

NTU Singapore is launching a S$62 million CyberSG R&D Programme Office, to accelerate research and development, and to build up cybersecurity capabilities for the country.

The new initiative was announced today by Minister for Communications and Information and Minister-in-charge of Smart Nation and Cybersecurity, Mrs Josephine Teo, at the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore’s Cybersecurity Innovation Day, held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre.

Hosted by NTU's School of Computer Science and Engineering (SCSE) and funded by the National Cybersecurity R&D Programme, under the Singapore’s Research, Innovation and Enterprise Plan (RIE 2025), CyberSG R&D Programme Office’s mission is to position Singapore as the global forerunner of cybersecurity R&D and adoption.

The CyberSG R&D Programme Office will be the first research programme of its kind in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region. It brings together researchers from local research institutions and other autonomous universities, including the Singapore Management University, Singapore Institute of Technology and Singapore University of Technology and Design.

By bringing domain experts from all major universities and research institutions in Singapore under one roof at CyberSG R&D Programme Office, researchers can coordinate, collaborate, and draw on each other’s research expertise for mutual benefits.

This programme is supported by a S$62 million investment over four years from Singapore’s Cyber Security Agency.
