In the event if you do not have a Singapore mobile number, you can use the Singapore mobile number of an authorized proxy (e.g., sponsor or parent, etc.), that can receive SMS, so long as the owner of the mobile number is aware that his/her mobile number is being used for the retrieval of the digital Student's Pass.

If you overstay beyond the validity of your immigration pass, you may be subjected to a composition fine and prosecution in court.  Application/in-principle approval of Student’s Pass does not constitute legal extension of stay in Singapore.
You must have a valid immigration pass at all times.
