Tan Joo Seng

Dr TAN JOO SENG is Associate Professor of Strategy, International Business & Entrepreneurship at Nanyang Business School. He’s been actively involved in executive leadership and management training and development since 1995. His expertise on digital transformation strategy, global leadership, cultural intelligence, business model innovation, design thinking, and leadership in Age of Disruption, is sought after by Fortune 500 companies. He has more than 25 years of industry and training experience. He teaching spans undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including Master of Science in Asset & Wealth Management, Master of Science in Technopreneurship, and the upcoming International MBA Program (a partnership between Nanyang Business School and University of Economics Ho Chi Minh). He was a member of the core faculty team in the Cornell-Nanyang Institute of Hospitality Management (CNI) where he taught in the Master of Management in Hospitality (MMH) program, General Management Program (GMP), and Professional Development Program (PDP). He was the Program Chair for the CNI Thought Leaders in Human Resources Roundtable program. Dr Tan has served as Deputy Head of the Division of Strategy, Management & Organization, and acting Deputy Head of the Division of Strategy, International Business & Entrepeneurship. He was a member of NTU’s Remaking the University Committee. He was also a member of the Singapore Ministry of Education’s University Autonomy, Funding & Governance Working Committee. He was the first Deputy Director in the Renaissance Engineering Program in NTU. He was the Academic Director of the Nanyang EMBA program. He’s been Program Director, Executive Certificate in Engineering Leadership, and other custom programs for Nanyang Executive Education. He’s Acting Deputy Head, Division of Strategy, International Business & Entrepreneurship, Nanyang Business School. He’s been a member of NTU’s Teaching Council, NTU2025 Undergraduate Education Global Taskforce, and on the exco of NTU Teaching Excellence Academy (TEA). He’s been a visiting research scholar at Cornell University, and a visiting professor in Chuo University, Tokyo. His current research interest relates to how businesses and leaders address opportunities and challenges unleashed by Industry 4.0 (Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Digital Transformation). His most recent white paper, “Leadership in the New Normal (Age of Disruption) and the Phygital Universe”, has been published on Nanyang Business School Knowledge Lab in August 2020. He advises fintech startups in trade finance and supply chain finance. He’s been invited to serve as a judge in hackathons and entrepreneurship competitions, including Singapore Youth Entrepreneurs Award. He’s currently involved a major international comparative research project on new models for inclusive growth in Asia, with Erasmus University (Netherlands) and Hanyang University (South Korea), supported by the Asia Foundation, the Economics of Mutuality, and the Rotterdam Center for Economics of Mutuality. He was recently profiled in Leadership 5.0 by The Asian Network. His recent research on high growth startups and networks won the Martin Rahe Best Paper Award at the 18th International Conference of the Academy of Global Business Research & Practice (2024). On his LinkedIn profile, it says, “Path to Net Zero: Sustainable Leadership, Strategy and Entrepreneurship: perpetual beta, relentless reimagining and exponential learning”, reflecting his passion for building sustainable business and leaders in the circular economy, as the world transitions to net zero. His latest research on learning agility has been published in MIT Sloan Management Review (October 2024). He's currently writing a new book, Driving A Sustainable Business Culture (to be published by World Scientific Publishing in 2025).

Sethi Vijay

Vijay Sethi is Professor - Department of Information Technology and Operations Management, Nanyang Business School, NTU, Singapore. He has held a number of leadership positions at the school including Director - International Business Competitions, Coordinator - India Strategy, and Dean - Business Program. Dr. Sethi specialises in electronic commerce, IT entrepreneurship, strategic information systems planning, IT productivity, and knowledge management. He is published in the top IT journals and internationally recognized for his research (ranked among the Top 25 MIS Professionals worldwide in terms of research (1991-1996); a recent paper was ranked among the Top 25 Most Requested Paper (April 2002 - April 2004) in Information and Management). Dr. Sethi teaches MBA and executive classes on IT and e-Business and was recently voted EMBA Teacher of the Year (2010), MBA Teacher of the Year (2011), Teacher of the Division (ITOM, Nanyang Business School) 2012. He has been the Director of the MBA Specialisation in IT for many years. He just published a book Premier e-Business Cases from Asia by Pearson-Prentice Hall, 2007 which contains a large number of Korean case studies and some from Singapore. His work is focused on digital disruptions, the economics of technology, social media and networks, data analytics, legal and IPR issues, and patterns of new technology evolution. Dr. Sethi has mentored many new Internet business ideas, many of which have gone on to win accolades in regional competitions such as the Asia Moot Corp, Bangkok Business Challenge, and others. He has worked with a number of Singapore companies as a consultant and for executive education programs including Abacus International, International Data Corporation, Heller Asia Pacific, Maritime and Port Authority, Trade and Development Board, Singapore Refining Company, Refco, Deutsche Telekom, NTUC, IDA, and MOM. Dr. Sethi holds an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh, USA. He was previously an Assistant Professor at the State University of New York (SUNY), Buffalo and then a tenured Associate Professor at the University of Oklahoma.

Chua Geoffrey Bryan Ang

Geoffrey Chua is Associate Professor of Operations Management and Academic Director for the Nanyang MBA at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He received his PhD in management with specialization in decision sciences from the National University of Singapore. His research spans the areas of supply chain management, sustainable operations and operations-marketing interface. He has published in leading journals and conferences such as Operations Research, Production and Operations Management (POM), IISE Transactions, European Journal of Operational Research, Neural Information Processing Systems (NeurIPS), International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML), International Conference on Learning Representations (ICLR), International Journal of Production Economics, Social Choice and Welfare, Naval Research Logistics, Socio-Economic Planning Sciences and Operations Research Letters. He has been appointed as Editor-in-Chief of Asia-Pacific Journal of Operational Research, Associate Editor of Networks, and to the editorial review boards of POM and Computers & Operations Research. He was awarded the Research Excellence Award by NBS (2015, 2011) and has attracted more than S$1.4 million in research funding. Geoffrey has taught operations management, supply chain management, service operations, and management science at the PhD, EMBA, PMBA, MBA, MSc and undergraduate levels. He received the Koh Boon Hwee Honoured Faculty Award (2023, 2022), Renaissance Engineering Programme (REP) Teacher of the Year Award (2024), Teaching Excellence Award from NBS (2014) and Nominee for the NBS Teacher of the Year Award (2019, 2018, 2014). He also actively consults for organizations such as Hewlett-Packard, OCBC Bank, ST Engineering, Alstom, Royal Golden Eagle Group, UPS Singapore, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Ministry of Health, and Singapore Red Cross. He is Fellow of REP since 2016 and was previously Senator of the NTU Academic Council (2020-2022), Academic Director for the Nanyang EMBA (2020-2021), Deputy Director for REP (2018-2019) and Honorary Treasurer of the Operational Research Society of Singapore (2017-2019).

Neumann Chew C.H. was previously Principal and Head of Analytics at SAS Institute where he designed and lead advanced analytics solution for government agencies, banks, insurance companies, hospitals and large corporations. Prior to SAS Institute, he was Head of Research & Statistics at Ministry of Health, and Professor of Financial Mathematics in Dubai Academic City. He teaches Analytics and Machine Learning, and had written the textbook Artificial Intelligence, Analytics and Data Science, Volume 1. Three volumes are planned. Ng Theng Haw Alvin

Alvin Ng Chief Operating Officer, Smart Cities, Asia Pacific, Aboitiz Data Innovation Adjunct Associate Professor, Nanyang Business School, NTU Alvin Ng is the Chief Operating Officer for Smart Cities of Aboitiz Data Innovation (ADI). He plays a key role in continuing the advancement of ADI’s mission to drive the adoption of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence tools and solutions around smart cities. Prior to this, as the Vice President of Digital Solutions, APAC, Johnson Controls, Alvin was responsible for driving the digital and sustainability growth strategy for Asia Pacific region, which includes driving and executing initiatives that increase market penetration, providing relevant digital solutions in the building sector, with focus on digital business revenue growth, partner offerings, sales cycle support and ecosystem representation. Alvin has over 24 years of experience in global sales and product management and has held a series of senior global leadership roles with multinational companies like Wincor Nixdorf AG, Cisco Systems and Rosenbluth International. Prior to joining Johnson Controls, he worked for General Electric as the General Manager for GE Digital, Asia. In addition to his role as the Industry-Faculty lead for ‘Business Consulting’ and ‘Leader as a Coach’ programs for the MBA School, he teaches Digital Transformation, AI for business, Internet of Things and Sustainability leadership programs. He also plays the role of Senior Career Fellow as an executive coach to the Global Executive MBA students.

Lars Droste Partner Development Manager, Google Cloud As the Partner Development Manager for Google Cloud, Lars oversees the APAC and Japan regions. In this role, he leads and manages Google Cloud Platform partnerships, drawing upon his extensive industry experience to help partners optimize the potential of Google Cloud offerings in the marketplace. Through his profound grasp of market dynamics and tech nuances, Lars empowers partners to enhance the delivery of Google Cloud solutions. This, in turn, aids clients in integrating data-driven insights from areas such as operations, finance, supply chain, management, big data, data warehousing, and application modernization into their daily operations. Prior to his tenure at Google, Lars held a series of directorial roles over a decade at SAP, spanning both the UAE, APAC and Japan territories. Beyond Google, Lars shares his expertise as a part-time lecturer at Nanyang Business School, educating students at the Masters and executive levels on emerging technologies, practical implications, and strategies for successful adaptation.

Mark Laudi Founder and CEO, Hong Bao Media Gallup-certified CliftonStrengths coach Mark Laudi is an accomplished media mentor, business conference anchor, and radio and financial television current affairs show host. He is a veteran of the traditional and new media, with 25 years' experience in print, radio, television, new and social media, and communications coach to senior business and government leaders in Asia and the Middle East. Between 1999 and 2006, Mark anchored and produced regional network television business news programs at CNBC Asia Pacific. He anchored Squawk Box, and performed various roles including Australia Editor, and Sydney Bureau Chief. From 1997-1999, Mark hosted news programs at MediaCorp, and was a member of the inaugural production and presentation team of English-language talk radio station CNA938. He is a member of the Asia Pacific Association of Communications Directors (APACD), the Singapore Institute of Directors (SID), the Investor Relations Professionals Association Singapore, SGTech, AustCham Singapore, and the Singaporean-German Chamber of Industry & Commerce.
