The Master of Computing in Applied Artificial Intelligence (MCAAI), offered by the College of Computing and Data Science (CCDS), is designed to equip professionals from diverse disciplines with the knowledge and skills to effectively apply responsible AI in solving problems in their respective domains.

This programme bridges the gap between AI theory and real-world application, enabling professionals from diverse domains to integrate AI responsibly into their workflows and enhance organisational efficiency. Through a rigorous curriculum, participants will gain:

  1. An NTU recognised undergraduate degree.
  2. TOEFL ≥ 85 or IELTS ≥ 6.0 is required for graduates from non-English medium universities.
  3. For undergraduate education completed in English, an Medium of Instruction (MOI) letter is required as proof of the language medium for the programme
  4. Minimum 2 years’ work experience is an advantage.
Duration: Full-Time – 3 Trimesters | Part-Time – 6 Trimesters
Structure: 30 AUs comprising 12 AUs Core Modules and 18 AUs Elective Modules 

 

Class Run Format

  • Each 3-AU course runs over 6 weeks
  • Total of 39 contact hours per course
  • Weekly breakdown (6.5 hours):
    • 1 hour of pre-recorded video (self-paced)
    • 2 hours mid-week live online/onsite/hybrid lesson (6:30 pm – 8:30 pm)
    • 3.5 hours Saturday in-person lesson
      • Morning: 9:00 am – 12:30 pm OR
      • Afternoon: 1:30 pm – 5:00 pm
  • Additional hours allocated for self-study

Note: More than 50% of the contact hours are expected to be in-person classes. 

 

The MCAAI programme is designed for professionals looking to enhance their value and relevance in their current roles. Graduates will gain cutting-edge AI expertise to drive greater impact within their organisations.

For those with ICT skills, the programme provides specialised training in the latest AI technologies, enabling a seamless pivot into the rapidly growing AI sector—one of the most in-demand fields in ICT today.

Tuition Fees

The tuition fees for Academic Year 2025/26 and after are as follows:

Deposit FeesS$5,000 – This amount will be deducted from the first billing. Non-refundable & non-transferable (Payable upon acceptance of offer of admission)

Payment Schedule

Students will be billed according to the number of AUs registered for each trimester

*All fees shown are inclusive of 9% prevailing GST.

Please note the following:

  1. All fees shown are inclusive of the prevailing Goods and Services Tax (GST).
  2. The above fees are based on the shortest candidature period. Additional fees will be determined and applied on a case-by-case basis.
  3. There is an application fee of S$50.
  4. A one-time miscellaneous fee will be billed every academic year. Please click here for details.
  5. Tuition fees do not include the cost of recommended textbooks and other course materials. The costs of travel, accommodation and miscellaneous expenses must be borne by the student.
  6. All grants will be distributed evenly across the entire billing period, whether it is 3 trimesters for full-time students or 6 trimesters for part-time students. For CCDS study grant will be applied in the second tuition fees payment for all SC/SPR students.
  7. The university currently has no scholarship, government service agreement, or service obligation scheme available for students.
  8. The fees and grants are reviewed annually and subject to revision.
  9. Students who withdraw from the programme after making tuition fee or miscellaneous fee payment(s) will not be refunded for any amounts already paid.”

 

Financial Assistance

(AY2025 intake onwards)

For academic year starting in 2025, Singaporeans and permanent residents who enrol in self-financed master’s by coursework programmes at NTU will enjoy a $5,000 subsidy, with those in need of financial aid will receive up to $15,000. All Singaporeans and permanent residents will also receive an additional $5,000 CCDS study grant.  All NTU alumni will receive an additional 10 per cent tuition fee rebate.
