HSSE MAHE-SLL Internship Scheme

AIMS and SCOPE

This internship (unpaid) scheme aims to provide MAHE students with opportunities to gain hands-on experience in educational design and outreach that enhances their future work-ready competencies such as design thinking, critical thinking, collaboration, communication and facilitation skills.

Supported by the NIE Sustainability Learning Lab (SLL) and HSSE faculty members, the scheme involves interested MAHE students in co-designing and conducting sustainability-themed workshops (e.g. SLL games sessions) for members of the public, both local and international.

Pre-requisite

• None; but interested students may wish to ensure that they are coping well with the MAHE coursework

Commitment (inaugural run)

• Participate in the training sessions and co-design workshops (expected to be 3 to 5 sessions, each lasting 1.5 - 2 hours on average)
• Facilitate or co-facilitate at least on session of sustainability workshop for external clients over as and when such demand arises

Reward

• A Certificate of Participation upon completing the training sessions and co-design workshops
• A Certificate of Appreciation upon completing at least 1 facilitation task
• For deserving students who volunteer more than minimal time and effort in this endeavour, a Letter of Appreciation / Reference from MAHE professor
