Sharon's PhD research looks at designing transformative sustainability learning programmes to facilitate students' connection with nature in an urban environment. As a lecturer at a polytechnic, she works at the intersection of education, sustainability and technology, developing initiatives such as EcoQuest@RP, a place-based adventure game that uses a rule-based chatbot to engage learners in exploring sustainability initiatives around campus. Outside of work and research, she enjoys bringing people on nature walks and volunteers with the Bloom and Buzz Project to support urban biodiversity.
