Mdm Baskaran Ganga is a dedicated educator with over two decades of experience in the teaching and advancement of Tamil language and literature. She currently serves as a Teaching Fellow at ALC, TLC, NTU/NIE, where she plays a pivotal role in curriculum development and teacher training.

Mdm Ganga holds both a B.A. and M.A. in Tamil Language and Literature, as well as a Master of Philosophy from the University of Madras, India. She further enhanced her qualifications with a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary) with Credit from the National Institute of Education, Singapore, in 2002. She is presently pursuing her Ph.D. at Tamil University, Thanjavur, India.

Since beginning her teaching career in 2001, Mdm Ganga has taught Tamil Language and Higher Tamil Language at the secondary level, specializing in Upper Secondary education. Her career includes significant appointments at Riverside Secondary School, Sembawang Secondary School, Teck Whye Secondary School, and Chua Chu Kang Secondary School, where she served as Senior Teacher. Since 2022, she has contributed as Senior Curriculum Resource Development Officer (Tamil Language) at the Mother Tongue Languages Branch, CPDD1, MOE.

Mdm Ganga has taken on key roles such as setter for the ‘A’ level LC Examination, group leader for ‘O’ level Higher Tamil Language marking, and Chairperson for the W5 Cluster Champion Group. 

She is actively involved in curriculum development, assessment, and professional development for Tamil Language educators at both secondary and junior college levels.

She has participated in and presented at numerous local and international conferences, including the World Tamil Teacher Conference, Tamil Internet Conference, and World Edu Lead Conference. Her research has been recognized at Tamil University, Thanjavur, where she has presented papers on Tamil drama and literature.

Mdm Ganga is deeply committed to her students’ holistic development. Under her guidance, her students have participated in various literary competitions and have won numerous prizes. She has also encouraged and supported her students to take part in national-level conferences in both Tamil and English, fostering their academic growth and confidence. Many of her students have contributed to the nation by collaborating with organizations and community centre, demonstrating the values of service and leadership that Mdm Ganga instils in them.
