CCP0001 Supporting Motivational and Social-Emotional Learning of a Child

This is a 2-hour course that focuses on the relevant knowledge and skills to foster motivational and social-emotional learning of a child. Motivational aspects cover the strategies to support a child’s learning, while social-emotional development includes the self-management of the child’s emotion. This course covers strategies to support the child’s social-emotional development, promoting emotional intelligence and building self-regulation skills.

By the end of this course, participants should be able to:

  1. Understand the various aspects of motivation and social-emotional learning.
  2. Support a child’s motivation and social-emotional development.

The course will cover the following areas:

  1. Aspects of motivational and social-emotional learning.
  2. Strategies to support motivational and social-emotional learning of a child.
Dr Betsy Ng

Dr Betsy Ng, Centre for Research in Pedagogy & Practice (CRPP)

Dr Betsy Ng is a researcher and lecturer at the National Institute of Education. She is also a Deputy Director at the Education Research Funding Programme Office. Her areas of research expertise include motivation, social-emotional learning and adult learning. Having a strong interest in education, Betsy has an extensive working experience as an education specialist, polytechnic lecturer, editor, and educator in a range of educational settings.
