New Education Normal Webinar Series: Well-being during the COVID19 Pandemic and Beyond: Positive Psychology and Education Perspectives

On 22 January 2021, Assoc Prof Ronnel B. King, Faculty of Education, University of Macau, and his PhD students, Mr Norman Mendoza and Fr Joseph Haw, SJ, presented at the New Education Normal webinar series on the topic of: “Well-being during the COVID19 Pandemic and Beyond: Positive Psychology and Education Perspectives”.

They discussed the importance of well-being, the impact of COVID19 on teacher’s and student’s well-being and offered recommendations on well-being in schools using positive psychology. Some of the suggestions include following a healthy routine during home-based learning, emotional self-care, and strengthening connections with students. The session was moderated by Dr Imelda Caleon, Asst Dean (Partnerships) and Senior Research Scientist at the Office of Education Research, and was attended by over 60 people from around the world.
