Organised by local publisher Ethos Books, the event brought together the co-editors of the poetry anthology--A/P Loh Chin Ee, A/P Angelia Poon and Ms Esther Vincent (former ELL student)—and secondary school Literature teachers for a morning of poetry-teaching workshops.

The event began with a dialogue between Angelia and ELL PhD student, Ow Yeong Wai Kit, on the evolution of poetry pedagogy, with written input from eminent Singapore poet Dr Anne Lee Tzu Pheng. Chin Ee and Esther then ran separate workshops for the teachers on eco-poetry and place-based learning in poetry.

This was followed by a second round of workshops conducted by teacher-participants. The symposium closed with the screening of a 5-minute documentary, "On the coexistence of wildlife in urban spaces", and a few words by Julian Paul Lee, a member of the Earth in Focus Media Lab documentary team.
