Assoc Prof Mark Baildon to Publish Book on Global Citizenship Education in Asia

Assoc Prof Mark Baildon, Assoc Dean (Partnerships and Analytics) at the Office of Education Research and Assoc Prof in the Humanities and Social Studies Education Academic Group at NIE, has edited a book with Assoc Prof Theresa Alviar-Martin, Assoc Prof of Curriculum and Instruction at the Bagwell College of Education, Kennesaw State University, to be published in 2021.

The book, titled Research on Global Citizenship Education in Asia: Conceptions, Perceptions, and Practice is part of the IAP Book Series Research in Social Education. It covers new research highlighting philosophical traditions, emerging perceptions, and the situated practice of global citizenship education (GCE) in Asian societies. While much of GCE has focused on Western societies, this volume re-centers investigations of GCE amid Asian contexts, identities, and practices.
