Teaching and Learning Innovation Grants
As we continue to explore innovative pedagogies to engage our students, we are pleased to share that NIE/NTU offers several Teaching and Learning (T&L) Innovation Grants to support faculty and staff in exploring transformative teaching practices that enhance learning at NIE.
We invite you to explore the following T&L grant opportunities:
Incentivising ICT Use Innovation Grant (I3G)
The Incentivising ICT Use Innovation Grant (I3G) supports NIE’s effort to enhance the use of ICT in teaching and learning. Proposed innovation projects should be guided by the NIE Teaching and Learning Framework for 21st Century Educators. The innovation projects will impact classroom practices in NIE for our students and faculty. The funding quantum is up to $120,000 per project and project duration up to 24 months.

Irene Tan Liang Kheng Innovation Grant (ITLK IG)
The Irene Tan Liang Kheng Innovation Grant (ITLK IG) is one of the grants set up from the gift received from the Estate of Irene Tan Liang Kheng. The ITLK IG supports ICT-driven innovations in teaching and learning and should be guided by the NIE Teaching and Learning Framework for 21st Century Educators, benefiting NIE’s community. The funding quantum is up to $35,000 per project and project duration up to 12 months.

NTU EdeX Teaching and Learning (T&L) Grant
The NTU EdeX Teaching and Learning (T&L) Grant provides support for disciplinary experts to conduct Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) studies at NTU via systematic inquiry or research into student learning. They are intended to foster a broader culture in NTU that nurtures and supports the strategic teaching and learning aims of the university. Each year, the projects focus on various themes related to NTU's Educational goals, such as using digital technologies for critical and creative thinking. The funding quantum is up to $40,000 per project and project duration up to 18 months.

NTU EdeX Faculty Learning Communities (FLC) Grant
The NTU EdeX Faculty Learning Communities (FLC) Grant was introduced to bring together faculty across disciplines to engage in focused and sustained exploration of a shared idea, concept, or interest area that addresses current issues and strategies in NTU Education 2025. The funding quantum is up to $10,000 per project and project duration up to 18 months.

NTU Collaborative Online International Learning Grant (COIL)
To foster students’ cross-cultural competencies and global perspectives, the NTU COIL Grant supports faculty to collaborate with partners from overseas institutions to develop undergraduate (UG) courses during the semester or special term, enabling NTU and overseas students to learn together through a hybrid (in-person and online real-time learning) or virtual (synchronous and asynchronous learning) format. An optional learning trip to an ASEAN-China-India (ACI) country may be included. The funding quantum is up to $10,000 per project and period of support will be until 31 December 2026.
