Reports noted that a total of 834 students graduated from NIE at NTU to become full-time teachers. NIE would be holding graduation ceremonies from 12/7 to 13/7, with Min/MOE kicking off the first graduation ceremony. 37 graduates received awards for their outstanding performance, with ten of them winning more than one award. Tamil Murasu interviewed Anjana Shankar who shared stories of how she grew up reading her mother's Tamil short stories and became interested in the Tamil language. Revinesh was also featured, shared that during his university days coaching junior students in hockey and preparing them for competitions were unforgettable experiences for him.
