Supporting Young Academics - Congratulations to Asst. Prof. Mervin Ang for winning the 2026 MOE START Inauguration Grant Award

Asst. Prof. Mervin Ang was awarded the Inauguration Grant under the MOE Singapore Teaching and Academic Research Talent Scheme (START).

Awarded to pre-tenure Assistant Professors in Autonomous Universities, the Scheme supports young Singaporeans in pursuing an academic career as well as helps universities strengthen their pool of academic talent in both research and teaching. The Inauguration Grant supports recipients by giving a cash bonus in two tranches – after the first two years of service, and after the second two years of service. The cash bonus is funded equally by both MOE and the awarding AU.

Asst. Prof. Ang will be attending the START Award Ceremony on 31 July 2026 to formally accept the award.
