SoLEC and Jiangsu Normal University KeWen College and Lingnam Normal University: Exploring the Science of Learning
From 4–7 August 2026, the Science of Learning in Education Centre (SoLEC) welcomed students from Jiangsu Normal University KeWen College and Lingnam Normal University for a dynamic learning exchange. Over three days, participants explored Singapore’s education system, the role of artificial intelligence in classrooms, and concluded with their own final presentations on the Science of Learning in Education.
Day 1 – Talent Strategy and Innovative Education
Students were introduced to:
- Singapore’s education system and its emphasis on future-ready learners.
- NTU’s philosophy and practices in student development.
- NIE’s holistic approach to teacher and student growth.
Day 2 – Artificial Intelligence in Education
This session highlighted:
- Practical applications of AI in teaching and learning.
- How learning analytics can personalize education.
- Opportunities and challenges of integrating AI into classrooms.
Day 3 – Final Presentation: The Science of Learning in Education
Students showcased their reflections through presentations on:
- What is the Science of Learning?
- Key Learning Principles such as attention, memory, feedback, motivation, and active learning.
- Real-world classroom scenarios demonstrating how these principles apply in practice.
- Evidence-based suggestions for improving teaching and learning.
