SoLEC’s First Overseas IHL Student Summer Programme
The Science of Learning in Education Centre (SoLEC) proudly hosted its first overseas Institute of Higher Learning (IHL) engagement, welcoming 21 students from Gannan Normal University and Jiangxi University. Conducted in English, this four‑day programme was held at the SoLEC Collaborative Space from 21–24 July 2026.
Programme Overview
- Day 1 – Opening Ceremony & Course 1: AI and Education Led by Dr. Elizabeth Koh Students explored the fundamentals and applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education, and examined the benefits, challenges, and potential solutions associated with integrating AI tools into learning environments.
- Day 2 – Course 2: Teaching Management Led by Dr. Peter Seow The session introduced Singapore’s undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum structures, teaching design principles, and policies on learning assessment in the AI era.
- Day 3 – Course 3: Key Features of Singapore Education Led by Dr. Elizabeth Koh Participants examined Singapore’s educational philosophy, key initiatives, and frameworks, alongside the Ministry of Education’s Educational Technology masterplans and classroom practices.
- Day 4 – Closing Ceremony & Final Presentation Led by A/P Teo Wei Peng Students reflected on their learning journey, shared comparative insights, and presented their final thoughts, marking the conclusion of this collaborative programme.
