NIE Researchers Publish in Computers & Education Open
Dr Sun Baoqi, Research Scientist at the Centre for Research in Child Development, Assoc Prof Loh Chin Ee, Deputy Head (Research), English Language and Literature Academic Group, and Assoc Prof Nie Youyan, Deputy Head, Psychology and Child & Human Development Academic Group, have published in the open access journal Computers & Education Open.
The paper, titled “The Covid-19 School Closure Effect on Students’ Print and Digital Leisure Reading” was based on findings from Dr Sun’s project on “Leisure Reading in Two Languages: Reading Habits and Preferences of Bilingual Children in Singapore”, in which Assoc Prof Loh is co-Principal Investigator, and Assoc Prof Nie is a collaborator. The paper details the project study examining Singaporean primary school students changes in reading enjoyment and amount and access to resources in both print and digital formats during the COVID-19 school closure.
