Dr Tay Lee Yong Publishes Two Journal Articles
Dr Tay Lee Yong, Teaching Fellow at the Centre for Research in Pedagogy and Practice (CRPP), has published two journal articles.
The first article, titled “Validity and reliability of an English translation of the Teacher Metacognition Inventory (TMI) with mathematics teachers in Singapore” is published in the journal Current Psychology and is based on research findings from Dr Tay’s project “Examining Teachers’ Conceptions and Use of Reflection to Understand their Practice”. Dr Tay’s co-authors on this article included Ms Tan Jing Yi, Research Assistant (RA) at the Office of Education Research (OER), Ms Thaslim Begum Aiyoob, OER RA, Ms Monica Ong, CRPP Teaching Fellow, Dr Christina Lim-Ratnam, Senior Lecturer at the Policy, Curriculum and Leadership Academic Group (AG) in NIE, and Dr Chua Puay Huat, CRPP Senior Teaching Fellow.
The second article resulted from a project Dr Tay is co-Principal Investigator (PI) of, titled: “International Ipreschooler Surveillance Study Among Asians and otheRs (IISSAAR): screen media use and off-screen behaviours among preschool children living in selected urban cities in some countries in Asia and elsewhere”. The article, published in Educational Media International, is titled “Pre-schoolers’ use of technology and digital media in Singapore: entertainment indulgence and/or learning engagement?” Dr Tay’s co-authors were Ms Begum Aiyoob, Mr Terence Chua, RA at NIE’s Physical Education & Sports Science (PESS) AG, Ms Kalaivani Ramachandran, OER RA, and the project PI, Prof Michael Chia from PESS AG.
