Dr Kenneth Y T Lim Publishes a Paper in Computers and Education Open
Dr Kenneth Y T Lim, Research Scientist at the Centre for Research in Pedagogy and Practice, Office of Education Research (OER), has published a paper in Computers and Education Open describing his research team’s work with schools on a COVID-19 learning intervention.
The paper, titled “Nurturing positive social values with the Socially Responsible Behaviour through Embodied Thinking (SORBET) Project”, is co-authored with members of Dr Lim’s research team, including Mr Ahmed Hilmy, OER Executive Research Assistant, and Mr Yuen Ming De, OER Project Assistant. It describes Dr Lim and his team’s work with teachers from several schools in Singapore on helping them design lessons in a variety of subject disciplines to help students understand the size and severity of the COVID-19 pandemic. These curricular approaches were framed in terms of Mathematics, Geography, and Social Studies, among others, and students were able to engage in meaningful discussions around the impact of their personal decision-making and behaviours on the wider community around them.
