Dr Imelda Caleon invited to speak at the Education University of Hong Kong and S4 Student Well-Being Cluster Interest Group Meeting

Dr Imelda Caleon, Assistant Dean (Partnerships) at the Office of Education Research (OER), was invited as a guest lecturer to speak at the Education University of Hong Kong on 14 October 2023. Dr Imelda presented “Tracing the Winds of Change: Policy Initiatives and Assessment Reforms in Singapore”, where she shared about the various policy initiatives in Singapore, including Full Subject-based Banding. She also shared related findings of her project entitled "Peer Power 2.0: A Longitudinal Investigation of Students’ Peer Networks and their Academic, Motivational, Social and Emotional Outcomes". The lecture was attended by about 40 students of a psychology course focusing on assessment in education.

On 26 October 2023, Dr Imelda was invited to speak at the S4 Student Well-Being Cluster Interest Group Meeting, where she presented “Student Well-being in Schools: Current State and New Perspectives”. She shared findings from three of her projects (Rethinking Stress: The Influence of Stress Mindset on Wellbeing, Resilience and School Outcomes of Adolescents [OER 15/19 ISC]; Peer Power 2.0: Peer Power 2.0: A Longitudinal Investigation of Students’ Peer Networks and their Academic, Motivational, Social and Emotional Outcomes [OER 30/22 ISC]; Peer Power: How Do Peer Relationships and Peer Network Attributes Influence Adolescents Academic, Motivational and Well-Being Outcomes?"[OER 27/19 ISC]) as well. The meeting was attended by about 30 key personnel and school leaders from the south cluster of schools.
