British Educational Research Association Recognises Dr Kenneth Lim’s Work on Learning with Augmented Reality

Research Scientist, Dr Kenneth Y T Lim, from the Office of Education Research at NIE, has been working with teachers on helping them design for learning with Augmented Reality (AR) since 2018. His work in AR in Chemistry Education was published in 2018 and he was awarded a grant to collaborate with academic faculty from NIE’s Natural Sciences and Science Education Academic Group to bring his approach to pre-service teacher-educators the following year. 

Likewise, his work in AR in History Education was published this year in Volume 51 Issue 3 of the British Journal of Educational Technology and also in the proceedings of the 6th International Conference on Constructionism.

Most recently, Dr Lim was recognised for his pioneering approach—Learner-Generated Augmentation—by being featured in the blog of the prestigious British Educational Research Association (BERA).

BERA has been at the forefront of educational research in the United Kingdom since 1974. BERA’s feature highlights a collaboration between Dr Lim and Teaching Scholar Ryan Lim, who is studying as a history educator at the Humanities and Social Studies Education Academic Group of the NIE.
