Assoc Prof Loh Chin Ee Publishes an Article and Gives Two Presentations
Assoc Prof Loh Chin Ee, Deputy Head (Research) from NIE’s English Language and Literature (ELL) Academic Group, has published an article and given two presentations based on findings from her research project “Designing School Libraries of the Future (LOTF)”.
The article, published in the IFLA Journal, is titled “Developing future-ready school libraries through design thinking: A case study”, and was written with students from Cedar Girls’ School (one of the schools participating in the LOTF study) and former NIE student, Elia Hamarian. It details the use of design thinking and student involvement in the school’s library improvement project. NIE staff/students can access the article here.
Assoc Prof Loh also shared on “The role of language teachers in promoting engaged reading using print and digital technologies” in her keynote for the 2021 Korean Language Education Research Institute (KLERI) International Conference on 30 October 2021. Within Singapore, Assoc Prof Loh has also shared project findings from the 2021 survey and other related studies with ELL teachers and Library Coordinators at the Ministry of Education (Singapore) Curriculum Planning & Development Division’s (MOE CPDD) ELL E-Reading Symposium and CPDD officers at the MOE CPDD ELL Branch Learning Day.
